Argentina and Barcelona star Lionel Messi won the Balon D'Or of the Organization of World Football (FIFA) as the world's best player of 2011.

This is the third time the award to Messi and make the player nicknamed The Flea was a fourth player to win this award three times.
Other players to have achieved is similar to the Dutch duo Johan Cruyff and Marco van Basten, and French legend Michel Platini.
24-year-old player beat Real Madrid attacker Cristiano Ronaldo and teammate Xavi.
"I think Messi will break all the records that exist," said Xavi.
"He was young, just 24. He will be the best footballer in history," added Xavi.
Meanwhile, Messi said he was very happy with this personal achievement.
"This is my third time to win and this is an honor. I would like to thank all the people close to me, his teammates, coaches and everyone in Barcelona," said Messi.
"I would also like to thank the Argentina national team," said Messi.
Messi previously won this award in 2009 and 2010. He was also a key to Barca in the Champions League Final 2011 against Manchester United.

Alex Ferguson has won 12 times with Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was awarded devotion to football.
Ferguson, 70, received the award directly Sepp Blatter after leading the Red Devils win the 19th title for United or the to-12 during the regime of Ferguson.
